Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Oncologist to join our highly established for-profit health system in the state of Indiana. As a Medical Oncologist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive cancer care to patients across our network of facilities. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care, utilizing the latest advancements in oncology treatment and research. Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialized medical oncology services to patients diagnosed with cancer, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment planning, ongoing management, and survivorship care.
2. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to determine appropriate treatment options and create individualized care plans.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists, to develop a comprehensive approach to patient care.
4. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other systemic treatments, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.
5. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment, adjusting therapy as necessary to optimize outcomes and manage side effects.
6. Provide counseling and support to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs throughout the cancer journey.
7. Participate in clinical research and trials, contributing to the advancement of oncology knowledge and treatment options.
8. Stay current with the latest developments in oncology research, treatment modalities, and guidelines through continuous medical education and professional development.
9. Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and documentation standards.
10. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
1. Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
2. Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology.
3. Valid medical license in the state of Indiana (or eligibility to obtain).
4. Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing medical oncology in a clinical setting.
5. Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in the management of various cancer types, including solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
6. Proven ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest evidence-based medicine and clinical guidelines.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse healthcare team and provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
8. Dedication to quality improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
9. Track record of participation in clinical research, publications, and presentations is highly desirable.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a diverse caseload.
